We live in the country we sell
Driveflex Tours is based in Bandarawela, a small town on a ridge in Sri Lanka's hill country, forty minutes from Ella and fifteen from the tea estates at Haputale.
That matters more than it sounds. Most operators selling Sri Lanka to Europe work from an office in Colombo, or from another country altogether. When we tell you the view from Lipton's Seat is gone by eight, or that the Ella train sells out three weeks ahead in February, it is because we are up there.
We build private trips. One vehicle, one driver-guide, and a route put together around what actually interests you rather than assembled from a catalogue. Most of our travellers arrive knowing they want elephants, tea and a beach, without knowing how those fit together geographically. Working that out is our job, not yours.
We are a small operation and we would rather stay one. It means the person who plans your trip is the person who answers the phone when something changes.
What we promise

- The same licensed guide from arrival to departure, in a private air-conditioned vehicle. Not a different stranger every morning, and not a coach.
- A quote that does not move
- One figure covering vehicle, fuel, driver, tolls and stays. No commission surprises at hotel check-in, no optional extras appearing mid-trip.
- Reachable while you are here
- A local number that a person answers, for the whole time you are on the island. Plans change; weather changes; we adjust.
- We say no to some things
- No elephant riding, no chained animals, no boats that chase whales. If you ask for them we will explain why, and suggest something better.
